DevOps Engineer Jobs Hiring Now (September 2026)
DevOps engineers automate infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows. They bridge development and operations through tooling, observability, and platform abstractions.
DevOps Engineer market snapshot
Live from PrismCV's job catalog. Salaries reflect postings that publish a range; remote share excludes postings without a location tag.
DevOps engineer postings describe a wider range of actual work than almost any other engineering title. At one company the role is platform engineering: building the Kubernetes platform, the IaC layer, and the golden paths other engineers ship on. At another it is build-and-release engineering centered on CI/CD pipelines. At a third it is traditional sysadmin work relabeled, with ticket queues and manual server care. Read the responsibilities and the team description, not the title; the day-to-day work, the interview loop, and the growth path differ completely between these.
The 2026 screening baseline has converged: one major cloud provider in depth, Terraform or OpenTofu, Kubernetes, and a modern CI system. Beyond the baseline, the differentiators postings increasingly name are GitOps (Argo CD or Flux), observability literacy (OpenTelemetry, SLO-based alerting), supply chain security (image scanning, artifact signing, SBOM tooling), and cost ownership. Security responsibilities are folding into the role at many companies rather than living in a separate DevSecOps title, and AI-assisted operations tooling shows up as an accelerant expectation rather than a distinct skill.
Seniority is visible in posting language. "Maintain CI/CD pipelines and support deployments" is a mid-level execution role. "Design the platform," "define SLOs," "own cloud architecture and cost" signal senior scope. Postings that mention internal developer platforms, golden paths, or developer experience are platform-engineering roles in practice and tend to interview accordingly, with more systems design and fewer trivia questions.
Warning signs worth respecting: a single DevOps hire supporting a large engineering organization usually means permanent firefighting with no budget for the automation the posting promises. A posting that leans on words like NOC, shifts, or 24/7 support coverage is an operations-support role, not an engineering role. And a posting listing all three clouds plus every orchestrator usually means the infrastructure is fragmented and undecided, which is fine if you want consolidation work, but go in knowing.
Use the listings below as your inbound feed. PrismCV crawls the major boards and de-duplicates across them; postings for this role also appear under infrastructure engineer and cloud engineer titles, and the feed covers those query terms. Check the live salary data above for what postings currently advertise, and run the ATS Checker against any posting you are serious about before applying.

Scoring methodologyFrequently asked questions
The baseline screen is one cloud in depth, Terraform, Kubernetes, and a modern CI system. What differentiates beyond it: GitOps experience, observability work with SLO-based alerting, supply chain security (image scanning, signing, short-lived CI credentials), and cost work with a before-and-after story. Bullets with operational numbers attached move faster than any tool list.
All three, because companies use the titles inconsistently and the underlying work overlaps heavily. As a rough split: SRE postings emphasize reliability, SLOs, and incident response; platform engineer postings emphasize internal developer platforms and golden paths; DevOps postings span both plus CI/CD. Filter by responsibilities, not the title. PrismCV's catalog includes related-role queries so adjacent titles surface in the same feed.
Certifications open recruiter screens but rarely close offers on their own, because interview loops test hands-on troubleshooting that certs do not. The strongest pairing for breaking in is a certification plus demonstrable projects: infrastructure you built with Terraform, a pipeline you wrote, a cluster you operate, with the repos public. Adjacent experience (sysadmin, support engineering, backend work with deploy ownership) plus that evidence is a common and credible entry path.
