PrismCV Chrome Extension
Autofill applications, score every job against your resume, and track everything you apply to, automatically.
What the extension does
The PrismCV extension does four things, automatically, across the job boards and application forms you already use:
Everything the extension does on the free tier is actually free: autofill, LinkedIn scoring, application tracking. Pro ($9.99/mo) unlocks AI resume tailoring per-job and unlimited AI generations.
1. Install the extension
Go to the Chrome Web Store
Search the Chrome Web Store for PrismCV. The extension listing is being submitted; in the meantime, you can check pricing for when it goes live.
Click 'Add to Chrome'
Chrome will ask you to confirm the extension's permissions. Click Add extension. The PrismCV icon (a purple P) will appear in your browser toolbar.
Pin it for easy access
Click the puzzle-piece icon in your toolbar, then click the pin icon next to PrismCV. This keeps the extension icon visible all the time.
2. First-time setup (3 steps)
After installing, click the PrismCV icon in your toolbar. If you haven't set it up yet, you'll see a Start setup button that opens a 3-step wizard.
Welcome
The wizard starts by showing you what the extension can do. Click Get started to continue.

Connect your account
You'll need an API token to let the extension talk to your PrismCV account.
- Open prismcv.com/settings/api-tokens in a new tab.
- Click Create token and choose the Extension preset. This grants exactly the permissions the extension needs and nothing more.
- Copy the token that starts with
pcv_. - Paste it into the wizard and click Verify and continue.

Upload your resume
This is the step that makes autofill work. Drop your resume (PDF, DOCX, or TXT) on the upload area and click Parse and continue. PrismCV reads your contact info, work history, education, and skills, then saves them to your profile bank.
Whenever you click Autofill on an application form later, PrismCV pulls from this profile bank to fill fields.

You can skip this and upload later, but autofill won't work until a resume is parsed.
When you're done, the extension popup will show your stats and quick links to the web app:

3. See ATS scores on LinkedIn jobs
Go to LinkedIn's job search (linkedin.com/jobs) and browse jobs as you normally would. Hover any job card for half a second and a colored badge appears next to the title showing how well your resume matches:

Click any badge to open the full ATS breakdown in the overlay panel. Scores are cached per browser session so hovering the same card again is instant.
4. Autofill applications on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby
When you land on an application form on Greenhouse, Lever, or Ashby, PrismCV shows a small floating button in the bottom-right corner:

Click 'Autofill from PrismCV'
The extension reads the form, finds fields it recognizes (name, email, phone, LinkedIn, GitHub, location, resume upload, etc.), and fills them from your profile bank. Filled fields briefly glow blue so you can see what changed.
Review the summary
A small card in the bottom-right shows what was filled, what was skipped, and why. Expand skipped to see the list.

Check and submit
Always review every field before submitting. Autofill is fast but not perfect. Free-text questions (“why do you want to work here?”) are always left blank, and EEO fields stay empty unless you've explicitly set them in your profile.
What gets filled
What never gets filled
5. Auto-log applications the moment you submit
You submit the application. The company's thank-you page loads. A small toast slides in from the top-right:

That's it. The application is now on your Kanban board at prismcv.com/applications, marked as Applied, with the right job title, company, and a link back to the job listing.
The extension detects submission confirmations on Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby automatically. You don't have to do anything. If you're applying somewhere else, you can always log the application manually from the PrismCV overlay on the job detail page.
6. Tailor + Autofill (Pro)
On Pro, you get a second button next to Autofill: Tailor + Autofill. It creates a resume branch tailored to this specific job, then autofills the application with that tailored resume.

Here's what makes this different from any other tool:
- 1.Your base resume stays the base. Tailor creates a branch, like a git branch, so the original is untouched.
- 2.The tailored PDF is what uploads. The company receives a resume written specifically for their job description, not your generic one.
- 3.Your tracker remembers which version got the interview. When you land a phone screen, you can open the application and see the exact resume version you sent.
Troubleshooting
The Autofill button doesn't appear on an application page
Check these, in order:
- Are you on a supported ATS? Right now, autofill only works on boards.greenhouse.io, jobs.lever.co, and jobs.ashbyhq.com.
- Open the extension popup. Does it say Connected? If not, your token expired. Create a new one and paste it into the options page.
- Some ATS forms load lazily. Wait a few seconds after the page loads for the button to appear.
- Reload the page. If the button still doesn't show, the page may be using a customized embed that our detector doesn't recognize yet. Email us at support@prismcv.com with the page URL.
Fields weren't filled even though I have them in my profile
The summary card will tell you why. Common reasons:
- No profile bank value: the field exists but your profile bank doesn't have a matching value. Go to prismcv.com/profile-bank to add it.
- No matching option (for dropdowns): the form has a specific list of options that doesn't include your value. Fill manually.
- Unrecognized field: the form uses an unusual label or ID our detector can't map to a canonical field. Fill manually.
The resume PDF didn't attach
On some sites (especially Ashby), React's form state may not register the file upload even though the DOM shows it attached. If submission complains about a missing resume:
- Click the Autofill button again to retry.
- If that fails, drag the file onto the upload area manually. The rest of the form stays filled.
We're working on deeper React integration to fix this. If you hit it frequently, let us know which ATS: support@prismcv.com.
LinkedIn badges stopped showing up
Two common causes:
- You hit the rate limit (20 scores per hour). Wait an hour or open the full overlay on individual jobs to bypass.
- LinkedIn changed their job-card layout. If this happens, the badge won't appear on new job listings. File a bug report and we'll push an update.
I got a 403 or “Forbidden” error
Your API token doesn't have the right permissions. Recreate it:
- Go to prismcv.com/settings/api-tokens.
- Revoke the old token.
- Create a new one using the Extension preset (this is the most common fix).
- Paste the new token into the extension's options page.
I applied somewhere but the extension didn't log it
Auto-log only fires on Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby confirmation pages. For LinkedIn Easy Apply, Indeed, or other ATSes, log manually:
- Go back to the job detail page in your browser.
- Click the PrismCV overlay (bottom-right).
- Click Save Job, then I Applied. The application appears on your Kanban tracker.
Privacy and security
The extension only runs on the sites listed in its Chrome Web Store permissions: LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, hiring.cafe, and the three ATSes (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby). It does not read or touch pages outside those domains.
What leaves your browser
- ✓ Job descriptions and scraped metadata, when you explicitly click Save, Score, or Autofill.
- ✓ Your resume file, once, during the setup wizard. Parsed into your profile bank, then discarded.
- ✓ Application metadata (job title, company, URL) when the auto-log fires.
- ✓ Non-identifying telemetry: how many fields were filled, how long autofill took. No values.
What never leaves your browser
- ✗ Any form field value. Autofill reads from your profile bank to the form, never the other way.
- ✗ Any browsing history outside the allowed domains.
- ✗ Passwords, cookies, or session tokens from any site.
- ✗ EEO data (race, gender, veteran/disability status) unless you explicitly set it in the PrismCV web app.

Frequently asked questions
Is the extension free?
Yes. Autofill on Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby, LinkedIn ATS scores, and application auto-logging are all included on the free plan. Pro ($9.99/mo) adds AI resume tailoring per-job and unlimited AI generations across the product.
Does autofill submit applications automatically?
No. The extension fills fields; you review and click submit yourself. Automated submission (“apply to 100 jobs with one click”) is something we deliberately don't do. Recruiters blacklist candidates who spam applications, and the apply bots have awful reviews for a reason.
Why doesn't it support Workday?
Workday's multi-step application forms are notoriously hard to automate reliably. Even the largest autofill extensions have persistent bug reports on Workday. We'd rather autofill Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby perfectly than autofill Workday unreliably. Workday support is on the roadmap once the simpler three are rock-solid.
Can I use it on Firefox or Safari?
Not yet. Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc) are supported today. Firefox support ships with a small manifest change and is on the roadmap; Safari requires a separate build and is lower priority.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Uninstalling the extension removes all locally cached data (profile bank snapshot, feature flags, API token). Your applications, resumes, and profile bank stay on your PrismCV account until you delete them from the web app.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email support@prismcv.com with the page URL and a screenshot if possible. Requests for specific ATS support (“please add iCIMS”) help us prioritize.
