Job Description

Lambda Robotics builds autonomous systems for physical infrastructure. We’re looking for a founding software engineer to build the platform that turns individual robots into a secure, reliable fleet deployable across many customers and sites.

What you’ll own

  • Build the infrastructure for managing and operating fleets of robots
  • Design robot registration, identity, authentication, and access-control systems
  • Build secure multi-tenant architecture that isolates each customer’s robots and data
  • Develop remote deployment, configuration, software updates, and rollback systems
  • Build logging, monitoring, alerting, and incident-recovery infrastructure
  • Develop APIs and customer interfaces for commanding robots and viewing their status
  • Build reliable pipelines for robot telemetry, video, logs, and operational data
  • Work closely with robotics engineers to productionize teleoperation, autonomy, and data collection
  • Define the architecture needed to scale from a few robots to thousands

What we’re looking for

  • Deep experience building backend, distributed, cloud, or device-management systems
  • Comfortable working across Linux, networking, APIs, databases, and deployment infrastructure
  • Ability to design reliable systems that interact with real physical hardware
  • Strong ownership and comfort working in a fast-moving, early-stage environment

Nice to have

  • Experience with robotics, ROS 2, IoT, edge computing, or autonomous systems
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD, observability, or over-the-air updates
  • Experience building secure multi-tenant SaaS or fleet-management platforms
  • Familiarity with real-time video streaming and unreliable network environments
