Job Description

Location: Paris, France. We value working in person, and we stay flexible. You may also get the chance to join us on occasional trips to San Francisco.

Language: English is required. You do not need to speak French.

The role

Today, Armature operates mostly as a service. We run thousands of experiments for our customers on our internal infrastructure, and most of what customers get from us still goes through people. Your job is to define what Armature’s product will look like, and then to own its delivery, from the first design to production.

You’ll work closely with the founders and our founding forward deployed engineer to turn customer needs into repeatable workflows, and you’ll put the results on a platform that feels intuitive. That platform has to make our operations 100x smoother, so we can serve 100x more customers and raise our quality at the same time.

We evolve very fast, so what you build next will keep changing, and you’ll shape it with the founders and our founding AI applied research engineer. This product is also the first piece of the stack we want to reinvent for agents, and there’s no existing product to copy.

What you will do

  • Spend time understanding customers needs and our daily operations.
  • Choose what becomes self-serve and what still needs a human-in-the-loop.
  • Make the calls on architecture, data model as well as UX/UI, and live with them.
  • Work with our founding AI applied research engineer to turn the latest research into the best evals system there is, so customers can trust every result we give them.
  • Ship to real customers, watch how they use it, and change it within days.
  • Say no to good ideas, so the product stays simple.

Who we look for

  • You’re an engineer from a top school, and if you’re a new grad, your internships show that you can build things.
  • You build through coding agents every day: you split the work, guide the agents and understand what they produce, and this is the skill we value most.
  • You care about product and design, and you can show something you shipped that people use.
  • You listen to customers and to the team in the field, and then you make the call.
  • You have high agency: you move forward without waiting for instructions.

Not a fit if

  • You need a finished spec before you start.
  • You think design is someone else’s job.
  • You’d rather build alone than talk to customers.
  • You want a roadmap that stays the same for a year.
  • You prefer to write every line yourself over working through coding agents.
