Job Description

Propulsion Test Intern (Summer 2027)

Role

As our Propulsion Test Engineering Intern, you will oversee propulsion component and system level test plan definition, test equipment design & build, and testing itself. You will work cross-functionally to ensure stakeholder and industry requirements are met while also considering cost and schedule implications of testing.

  • Design, build, test, and qualify tests and test equipment for Astranis propulsion systems
  • Perform component and system level design, analysis, and trade studies for test equipment
  • Develop and execute component and system level test plans
  • Work closely with other teams to complete tasks

Requirements

  • Working towards a degree in aerospace, mechanical, or other applicable engineering discipline
  • A passion for testing, including working in a fast-paced environment and doing hands-on design/development
  • Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch
  • Compulsion to fix anything that's broken, whether its a piece of equipment, a bad process, or communication between teams

Bonus

  • Experience building or testing liquid propulsion systems
  • Experience with Python
  • Familiarity with reading and writing technical standards and test plans
  • Experience with using MES/ERP software

 

The base pay for this position is $29.00 per hour.
Base Hourly Pay
$29—$29 USD
