Job Description

About Us

We're a fast-moving startup building in the real world — our work happens on the factory floor, not just behind a screen. We're small enough that your work will be seen by everyone and matter from day one, and we're growing fast. We want someone who's excited to help tell that story to the world.

Relling was founded by Anya and Jai who previously worked at SpaceX and NASA and started the company to solve the manufacturing labor shortage through high-fidelity automation. That mission is what you'll be helping the world see.

The Role

We're looking for a Social Media Intern to own day-to-day growth across our Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts. You'll be hands-on with everything from shooting and editing short-form video to writing captions, jumping on trends, and figuring out what actually makes our audience grow. This is a build-and-experiment role: you'll have real ownership of our channels and the freedom to try things.

This isn't generic startup content. You'll work directly with our engineering team to translate complex robotic movements, factory deployments, and firmware updates into digestible 30-second visual stories — the kind of technical content almost no one else has access to.

If you live on social media, have a feel for what makes content spread, and can turn a rough idea into a scroll-stopping video, we want to talk to you.

Your First 30/60/90 Days

  • By day 30: You'll have shipped a full content calendar and published consistently across all four platforms, including your first behind-the-scenes factory content.
  • By day 60: You'll have launched at least one recurring content series and run structured experiments across formats, with clear data on what's working.
  • By day 90: You'll have measurably grown our technical engagement rate — our target is a 25% lift — and own the playbook for what comes next.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, create, and publish content across Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Work with our engineering team to turn complex robotics work — robot demos, deployments, firmware milestones — into short, digestible visual stories
  • Shoot and edit short-form video (Reels, Stories, TikTok-style clips)
  • Grow our follower base and engagement through consistent posting and smart experimentation
  • Stay on top of trends, formats, and platform changes, and act on them fast
  • Write clear, on-brand captions and copy — and adapt the voice for each platform (LinkedIn reads differently than TikTok)
  • Engage with our community — replies, comments, DMs
  • Track what's working using platform analytics and share what you learn
  • Pitch new content ideas, series, and campaigns

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine passion for social media and a strong sense of what performs
  • Hands-on experience creating and editing video (a personal account, past internship, or portfolio all count)
  • Comfort in front of and behind the camera
  • Strong writing and a good instinct for tone and voice
  • Self-starter energy — you can run with an idea without a lot of hand-holding
  • Familiarity with Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn as a creator, not just a user
  • Based in or able to commute to San Francisco (this role is fully onsite)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with editing tools (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or similar)
  • A track record of growing an account (yours or someone else's)
  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Figma, Photoshop)
  • Familiarity with scheduling/analytics tools (Later, Buffer, Sprout, etc.)
  • Interest in robotics, hardware, or manufacturing — you don't need to be technical, but curiosity helps

Why Join Us

  • Real ownership of our social presence and room to experiment
  • Two meals a day provided onsite so you can focus on the work
  • Onsite factory visits — you'll get to see how things actually get built and turn that into content no one else can make
  • Direct mentorship and exposure to the whole team, not just marketing
  • A real shot at converting to a full-time role

How to Apply

Send us your resume and links to content you've made — your own accounts, past work, anything you're proud of. A portfolio or links to accounts you've managed are required — we can't evaluate your work without seeing it. The more real it is, the better.
