Job Description

About Lucid

At Lucid, we are creating exceptional mobility experiences through innovation to drive the world forward. Built on Lucid’s proprietary technology and software-defined vehicle architecture, our award-winning vehicles bring our “Compromise Nothing™” approach to the global automotive market. That means refusing to choose between performance and sustainability, design and engineering, ambition and integrity. In Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity, we have designed and built vehicles that have redefined their segments, combining exceptional range, performance, design, and expansive space in a single experience.

We achieve this through deep vertical integration, with design, engineering, and production happening in-house across our global offices and manufacturing facilities. Our teams come from industries around the world, united by a shared commitment to excellence. By refusing to settle, you can help redefine what’s possible and shape the future of mobility.

The Sr. Manager of Resident Product Engineering (RPE – KSA) will lead the Resident Product Engineering organization supporting AMP2 manufacturing operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for ensuring fast, disciplined, and technically rigorous resolution of product‑related issues impacting vehicles in production, while serving as the primary engineering interface between Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality, and central Engineering & Software organizations.

The RPE organization operates as an extension of the global Engineering & Software function, embedded at the manufacturing site to own product issue triage, drive root cause analysis, and enable robust corrective actions. This role is critical to production stability, quality performance, and operational execution at AMP2.

Key Responsibilities:

Resident Product Engineering Leadership

  • Establish, lead, and scale the Resident Product Engineering (RPE) organization at AMP2, aligned with the proven AMP1 RPE operating model.

    • Clear problem definition
    • Immediate Containment Actions (ICA)
    • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
    • Permanent Corrective Action (PCA) recommendation, validation, and closure
  • Act as the single point of entry for all manufacturing product‑related escalations, ensuring clear prioritization and eliminating parallel escalation paths.

Manufacturing, Quality & Plant Interface

  • Serve as the senior onsite engineering leader partnering closely with:
    • Manufacturing Operations
    • Quality
    • Supplier Quality
    • Plant Leadership
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues impacting safety, quality, throughput, cost, and launch readiness.
  • Establish strong daily operating rhythms and escalation mechanisms aligned to plant needs.

Engineering & Software Integration

  • Maintain tight operational alignment with global Engineering & Software commodity teams.
  • Implement and manage a dotted‑line engagement model with central engineering leaders to ensure:
    • Regular communication on issue status, priorities, and workload
    • Clear differentiation between design responsibility and manufacturing execution
    • Efficient utilization of global engineering resources
  • Drive disciplined handoff between plant execution and centralized design ownership.

Governance, RASIC & Escalation Management

  • Execute on the existing RASIC framework, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and decision rights across all product‑related issues.
  • Refine and evolve the RASIC as needed to support AMP2 operational maturity and scale.
  • Lead governance across cross‑functional workstreams impacting AMP2, ensuring disciplined prioritization and decision-making.
  • Provide structured executive‑level updates on systemic issues, risk exposure, and resolution progress.

Organization Build & Capability Development

  • Build and scale a high‑caliber RPE organization covering all major vehicle sub‑systems.
  • Develop strong local capability in KSA while leveraging global engineering depth.
  • Foster a culture centered on technical rigor, accountability, speed of execution, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related field); Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of engineering experience in a plant environment, with demonstrated experience supporting multiple vehicle launches.
  • Proven leadership experience in plant‑embedded / resident engineering organizations.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with:
    • Production issue triage
    • RCA / PCA methodologies
    • Cross‑functional escalation and resolution management
  • Proven ability to operate effectively across manufacturing, quality, supplier, and engineering organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting high‑volume production ramp and stabilization.
  • Experience working in international, matrixed, or multi‑regional organizations.
  • Arabic language proficiency is a strong plus, particularly for local plant, supplier, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Prior experience supporting manufacturing operations in the Middle East.
