Sr. Supplier Industrialization Engineer – Exterior Trim

As a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer focused on Exterior Trim, you will lead supplier industrialization from early design development through production launch. This role exists to ensure exterior components can be manufactured at the required quality, capacity, timing, and cost while preserving Lucid’s design intent. You will influence supplier selection, manufacturing feasibility, tooling readiness, process controls, APQP execution, PPAP approval, and launch performance. In your first 12 months, success will be demonstrated through capable supplier processes, completed qualification milestones, on-time tooling and Run@Rate readiness, and effective resolution of quality or capacity risks. This role offers hands-on ownership across both product development and supplier manufacturing, with the opportunity to create new methods for complex Class A exterior components. The position reports to [Hiring Manager Title]. 

What You Own 

• Industrialization Delivery: Own the supplier industrialization plan for assigned Exterior Trim components, including program timing, tooling, capital equipment, fixtures, trials, assembly readiness, Run@Rate, and production launch. 

• APQP and PPAP: Lead APQP execution from initial design through PPAP and mass production, ensuring required deliverables are complete, risks are visible, and corrective actions are closed. 

• Supplier and Design Readiness: Partner with Engineering and Purchasing to assess supplier capability, manufacturing feasibility, and process risk, and provide clear recommendations that support sourcing decisions. 

• Process Quality: Establish quality plans, inspection strategies, gages, test methods, control plans, and preventive actions using FMEA, MSA, SPC, DOE, GD&T, and other applicable quality tools. 

• Manufacturing Innovation: Work directly with suppliers to develop or improve manufacturing methods for complex exterior components, including Class A injection-molded and decorative parts. 

• Issue Resolution: Contain supplier-related process issues, protect Lucid assembly plants, determine root cause, and drive permanent corrective and preventive actions during industrialization and launch. 

• Supplier Performance: Conduct supplier audits and site assessments, define improvement plans, monitor performance metrics, and make timely decisions in the best interest of Lucid’s programs and customers. 

What You Bring 

Required Qualifications 

• 3+ years of high-volume automotive manufacturing experience with Exterior Trim systems or components, such as fascias, rocker moldings, wheel arch moldings, liftgates, spoilers, cowl screens, grilles, bright trim, appliqués, exterior decorative components, or Class A injection-molded parts. 

• Hands-on experience with supplier industrialization, APQP, PPAP, program management, and automotive product launch. 

• Working knowledge of automotive quality tools and standards, including IATF 16949, FMEA, SPC, MSA, DOE, GD&T, control plans, and corrective action methods. 

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and dimensional requirements, and translate them into capable manufacturing and inspection processes. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience in Supplier Quality, Supplier Industrialization, Manufacturing Engineering, Launch Engineering, or Product Engineering. 

• Experience with tolerance analysis, mold flow, and appearance approval processes, including AAR approval. 

• ASQ, Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing, or a related quality or continuous-improvement certification. 

• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field. 

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills; working knowledge of Smartsheet, JMP, Minitab, JIRA, or Tableau. 

• Strong analytical, technical writing, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on, data-driven approach in a dynamic environment.
