Job Description

Adaptional is building AI for insurance. Insurance is one of the largest industries globally, and still manages work with manual data entry, outsourced teams, human error-checking, and 30-year-old software. We are building a platform that delivers the claude-code experience for insurance teams, beginning with the $2 trillion+ property casualty claims market.

Adaptional’s founders are ex-xAI (SpaceXAI) and Clipboard and previously exited a YC-backed insurance startup. The company raised a YC-led $10m seed round, one of the largest ever insurtech seeds to date. We are working with top-10 insurance companies and are building a multi-product roadmap rapidly.

Founding GTM

You will be Adaptional's first business hire. Today, sales is founder-led; your job is to make it scale. You'll work directly with the CEO to convert pipeline into revenue, own customer implementations end-to-end, and build the commercial machine (GTM strategy, sales process, and eventually the customer implementation and support team) from scratch.

This is a builder role, not a manager role. There is no playbook, no ops team, and no one to delegate to yet. You'll do whatever the business needs each week: prepping a carrier pitch, running a customer onboarding, standing up the CRM, writing the first success playbook, then building the teams to scale these functions.

What you'll do

  • Work alongside the CEO on active enterprise sales: pipeline management, deal prep, follow-through, and conversion
  • Own relationships with our insurance customers: onboarding, expansion, and day-to-day account management
  • Build the GTM foundation: sales process, pipeline infrastructure, outbound motion, and customer-facing materials
  • Stand up our early customer success and support function, then hire and lead the first team
  • Take on whatever else matters most. This is a true generalist seat with expanding scope

Who you are

  • An exceptional generalist who relishes hard problems. You've come from private equity, consulting, or business school, or you've done a similar founding/early role at a startup
  • You’ve done something extraordinary
  • 2-4+ years of experience in a high-performance environment
  • High ownership and comfort with ambiguity: you figure things out without a playbook and follow through without being managed
  • Strong written and verbal communicator. You'll be in front of executives at some of the largest insurance companies in the world
  • Excited to work intensely in person in San Francisco

Compensation

Highly competitive cash and equity, based on experience and skill level. Founding-hire equity. You'll own a meaningful piece of what you build.
