Job Description

We've built something people want.

ComplyDo is a YC-backed startup based in Berlin building the AI-native operating system for enterprise compliance.

We're working with leading enterprise customers, processing hundreds of regulations and standards, and growing fast. We’re looking for a design-minded engineer to help us make complex compliance workflows simple, intuitive, and enjoyable to use.

You’ll join a small team with a lot of ownership, work closely with the founders, ship quickly, and have a direct impact on the product.

The Role

You’ll turn product requirements and customer problems into clear user journeys, thoughtful interfaces, and polished production experiences.

This is primarily a UI/UX and frontend role, with enough full-stack experience to connect your work to APIs and backend workflows. You’ll help shape how features work and then build them. You should care deeply about both how a product works and how it feels.

What You Will Work On

  • User-facing UI/UX. Design and build interfaces that make complex compliance workflows feel simple and intuitive.
  • The design system. Build and evolve our design system, including reusable components, typography, layout, and interaction patterns.
  • Prototypes and production interfaces. Turn early ideas and requirements into user journeys, prototypes, and production features. Implement responsive and accessible interfaces with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Product storytelling.  Define the product’s visual language so others can apply it consistently in their work. You will help drive product design and visual quality across the team.

Tech Stack

  • Design: Figma
  • Frontend: TypeScript, Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS
  • Backend: Python, MongoDB, Neo4j
  • AI layer: LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), LangChain, LangGraph, …

You don’t need to know everything. We care about your ability to learn quickly and finish work end to end.

How We Work

  • Small, focused teams.
  • Continuous deployment to production.
  • Strong ownership from idea to production.
  • We use AI tools heavily: Cursor, Claude, Codex, whatever makes you faster.

What We Are Looking For

Must have:

  • Strong frontend skills and experience with React and TypeScript.
  • Ability to build UI/UX that feels good, not just functional. You care about how things look and feel, not just whether they work.
  • The ability to turn vague problems into clear user journeys and shipped features.
  • Enough full-stack experience to connect frontend work to APIs and backend services.
  • Experience with Figma or a similar design tool.

Good to have:

  • Experience building design systems.
  • Experience with complex workflows, dashboards, or enterprise software.
  • Side projects, hackathon projects, or open-source contributions.
  • Familiarity with compliance, legal tech, or regulated industries, but not required.

We are not looking for:

  • Someone who needs years of experience to feel confident. We care about drive and curiosity not a CV.
  • Someone who prefers to be handed a detailed spec and execute. We want people who help write the spec.

Working Here

We work in person in Berlin. We believe hard problems get solved faster at a whiteboard than in a Slack thread.
