Job Description

Company Description

The Story Shack is a modern, low-overhead creative studio built to scale a brand's story. We give brands the power of an in-house creative team – without the headaches and high costs that plague the industry. We address the broken creative model by offering flexible, budget-friendly, scalable, and specialized solutions for brands.

Role Description

We're on the hunt for a sharp and dependable operator to join our scrappy, fast-growing creative studio and work directly alongside our Head of Community.

As our Resource Manager, you'll be the engine behind the scenes – running talent outreach, supporting creative resourcing, coordinating project needs, and keeping administrative tasks tight and on track. You'll help make sure every project has the right people in place at the right time, and that nothing falls through the cracks.

You'll also get exposure to the business side of a growing agency – supporting resourcing, budgeting, invoicing, and talent relationships as we continue to grow.

If you've got real experience in the agency, studio, or production world, love staying organized amid creative chaos, and want a front-row seat to how a creative company is actually run, this role was made for you.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily tasks with our 300-person creative community, including administrative outreach to freelance talent such as creative directors, copywriters, directors, cinematographers, photographers, producers, designers, and more – including initial outreach, scheduling, and follow-up.
  • Run availability and rate checks across our talent network for upcoming projects, keeping records accurate and up to date.
  • Support creative resourcing with Project Managers, Account Managers, and Producers by helping match the right talent to the right projects based on skill set, client needs, availability, and budget.
  • Handle financial administration, including invoice monitoring, payment tracking, and flagging discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date talent and project databases.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for talent inquiries and applications, while helping build and maintain strong relationships across our creative community.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a creative agency, studio, or production environment with resourcing responsibilities.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented, especially when it comes to financials and scheduling.
  • A collaborative, low-ego attitude with the ability to support someone else's workflow and priorities.
  • Genuine interest in the advertising and film industries and building relationships with creative talent.
  • Familiarity with talent databases, project management tools, and invoicing/accounting software is a plus.
  • Existing relationships within the creative production community are a plus.
