Are you a hands-on individual with experience within in the construction materials industry? Weâre on the lookout for a motivated Laboratory Technician to join our Asphalt Technical Services Team at Mount Louisa to test our Asphalt products.
This is a great opportunity where youâll receive on-the-job training, work alongside experienced technicians, and build valuable skills for a long-term career in materials testing.
Your duties involve undertaking sampling of asphalt and other construction materials, preparation of test samples, testing and physical analysis of these samples, reporting of test results and maintenance of records.
This role does require ability to work shift work, commencing as early as 5am.

Your day will involve:
- Conduct testing in accordance with laboratory work instructions, test methods, preparation instructions and manuals.
- Prescribed calibrations and checks of laboratory test equipment.
- Maintain, observe, and participate in the statutory Safety requirements of the Laboratory.
- Maintenance of the Laboratory NATA accreditation requirements
- Collecting and preparing material samples for testing
- Carrying out laboratory tests and recording accurate results
- Using specialised equipment (with full training provided)
- Assisting with occasional field testing to see where our materials are used in the real world
- A commitment to Safety and Quality.
- Well-developed skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data
- Good time management and teamwork abilities
- Strong analytical skills and a customer focus.
