Job Description

Health & Performance Data Operations Lead

Fort is the first wearable designed for strength training. It tracks the health and activity metrics expected from a modern wearable, then uses advanced motion sensing to recognize and analyze strength exercises—providing a more complete view of training, progress, and health.

We are hiring an Operations Lead to work closely with study participants and the engineering team to build and manage our human health and performance data program.

Responsibilities:

  • Own study planning, participant operations, and day-to-day lab execution
  • Represent company to customers, study participants, and event guests
  • Develop and maintain study protocols, consent processes, and operating procedures
  • Recruit, schedule, and guide participants through study sessions
  • Manage data collection tools such as wearable sensors, cameras, and other study equipment
  • Ensure quantitative and qualitative data from studies are high-quality and reliable
  • Hire, train, and oversee technicians as the program grows
  • Coordinate with engineering and machine learning teams on study design and data requirements
  • Maintain participant privacy and compliance with consent, retention and data-handling requirements
  • Improve study throughput without compromising participant experience or data quality

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing human-subject research, clinical operations, or structured data collection
  • Strong operational judgment and attention to detail
  • Excellent participant-facing and cross-functional communication
  • Ability to translate research goals into repeatable operating procedures
  • Comfortable with strength-training equipment and demonstrating exercise techniques
  • Available for regular in-person work in San Francisco

Experience in exercise science, kinesiology, biomechanics, physical therapy, clinical research, or wearable-device studies is preferred.
