Job Description

We’re looking for someone who can turn engineering designs into high-quality parts across a wide range of manufacturing processes.

You’ll be one of the first people helping build our in-house manufacturing capabilities from prototyping to production. You’ll work across CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, bending, 3D printing, and other fabrication processes to help bring complex mechanical parts to life.

This isn’t purely a traditional machine shop role. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes, help build new capabilities, and play a key role in shaping the future of manufacturing at Prototyping.io.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with engineering teams to improve manufacturing automation workflows, software, and internal tools
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes
  • Build prototypes using CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, bending, and 3D printing
  • Select manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and workholding for new parts
  • Read engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T to determine the best manufacturing approach
  • Create and optimize CAM programs using Fusion 360, Mastercam, NX CAM, or similar software
  • Inspect and verify finished parts using precision inspection equipment
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and continuously improve processes
  • Assist in developing next-generation manufacturing technologies through hands-on testing, process validation, and real-world manufacturing feedback
  • Help build and scale our in-house manufacturing capabilities, including new machines, tooling, shop workflows, and production processes
  • Support the development of new manufacturing capabilities as we expand our internal operations

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong hands-on machining experience
  • Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines
  • Experience with CAM software (Fusion 360, Mastercam, NX CAM, or similar)
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, bending, and other fabrication processes
  • Experience using precision inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, etc.)
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • High ownership and a willingness to take on challenges outside of a traditional job description
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment

Benefits

  • 100% medical, dental, and vision
  • Stock options, & 401K Retirement Plan
  • Daily Lunch
  • Flexible time off

Why Join?

You’ll be one of the earliest employees helping build a company at the intersection of manufacturing, and AI.

If you’re excited about building advanced manufacturing capabilities, solving challenging problems, and helping shape the future of how mechanical parts are made, we’d love to hear from you.
