Join Vultr

Vultr is seeking a motivated Associate Platform Engineer to learn, grow and contribute to the infrastructure powering Vultr's global cloud platform. The ideal candidate is a motivated early-career engineer eager to learn infrastructure and platform engineering from the ground up. This is a highly visible role in a high-growth technology company, which will require intellectual curiosity persistence and a genuine interest in how cloud infrastructure works under the hood. Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and contribute to production infrastructure automation using Ansible and Terraform

  • Assist in building and maintaining cloud-native services across VKE VLB and VCR

  • Develop hands-on skills with Kubernetes and container runtimes through guided project work

  • Write and improve tooling and scripts (Go, Python, Bash) to support platform operations

  • Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows for platform services

  • Dig into issues across networking containers and Linux systems with curiosity and persistence

  • Contribute to Vultr's open-source tools and libraries with guidance from senior engineers

  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response as you build operational experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (Go, Python, Bash or similar)

  • Basic understanding of Linux systems and command-line operations

  • Interest in cloud infrastructure containers and Kubernetes (prior experience not required)

  • Strong problem-solving instincts and willingness to dig into unfamiliar systems

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote team

Compensation

$80,000 - $90,000

Final compensation will vary depending on years of experience, background/skill set, location, and applicable laws.
