QA Engineer II

Toast is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join its FinTech Integrated Payments team that enables our International customers & Enterprise integrations.

You will enable restaurants by playing a critical role in testing features in this domain.The Toast platform processes tens of millions of requests per day, and this number grows constantly as we add new locations , integrations , partners to our ecosystem and expand to new geographies. You will be one of the impactful technologists , accountable for Fintech business growth in the International and Enterprise integration team. This is a mission-critical system on which our restaurants rely for their livelihood, so Quality , Reliability and Scalability are paramount.

About this roll*:

As a QA-II on our team, you will be:

• Collaborating with Product , Design(UI) and Development stakeholders to understand the requirements.

• Creating and implementing comprehensive test plans.

• Conducting and participating in test plan and test strategy reviews.

• Testing new features and regressions across our suite of hardware and software products. 

• Create defects for requirement deviations, assign priority and severity and escalate if needed. 

• Collaborating and assisting the project teams to triage and reproduction of defects, debugging of customer issues,validate fixes and attending sprint ceremonies.

• Work with other QA engineers and developers to adapt a test automation strategy.

• Increase Automation test case coverage by developing reusable scripts, brining test efficiency by using automation for release testing. 

• Actively contribute towards product design and roadmap discussions by pitching ideas from a quality perspective.

• Keeping current with tools such as Jira, Confluence, TestRail, automation products etc.

Do you have the right ingredients*?

• 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.

• Ability to learn and understand complex business logic and find creative ways to test it.

• Design and deliver test plans for a significant component, set of features, mid-size application, or service. 

• Have a solid understanding of the test strategies and methodologies used in your technology domain (and how to best apply them). Example API testing using postman, Web Application testing (Desktop, Toast Hardware and Mobile Apps), Automated testing using Selenium , Playwright etc.

• Possess an appetite for automation and are aware of automation frameworks, methodologies & tools

• Your test plan, scripts and test case reviews tend to be rapid and uneventful. You provide useful feedback for changes submitted by others. 

• Your automation test scripts are maintainable and reusable, identify bugs and do not produce false positives. 

• You make improvements to your team’s testing processes and question the defined set of tests. 

• You have established good working relationships with team members and peers working on related software. 

• Commitment to quality, user experience, and using your “get unblocked” attitude for continuous learning and problem solving.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

• Strong familiarity with Test Automation frameworks for backend and frontend tech stacks.

• Understanding and hands on experience with testing of Fintech,Payments Products and services.
