Who We Are

The next frontier of applied AI isn't another chat window embedded in a system of record. It's systems that can perceive, reason about, and act on the physical world. Restaurants are a $1.5T industry that runs almost entirely on tribal knowledge and guesswork, and where the data that matters has never before been captured cleanly.

At Marble, we're building the first agentic operating system for physical industries, starting with multi-unit restaurant groups.

We've spent decades in this industry and have shipped AI/ML systems at scale for some of the largest institutions on the planet. We speak the customer's language and are building workflows around processes we already understand deeply. In less than four months, we signed 150+ restaurants across the US, Canada, and Europe, and have grown 25% week over week for three months and counting. We're backed by Y Combinator and a host of incredible investors, angels, and operators.

The Role

You'll own everything that happens between a signed contract and a delighted customer.

The role is one part operations, one part customer success, one part forward deployment. You'll run deployments, be the primary point of contact from the moment a contract is signed, build the playbooks that unlock scale, and work directly with engineering to turn what you learn in the field into rapid product iteration.

You'll work directly with the founders in-person in NYC and grow into a leadership role as the company scales. You'll sit at the seam between customers, product, and engineering, and you'll need to be fluent in all three.

We've seen excellence in these types of roles before and the through-line is clear. There is a particular kind of person who takes pleasure in forcing structure into highly unstructured environments. If that's you, and you get excited rather than anxious by that kind of challenge, this role was written for you.

What you'll work on:

• Own deployments end to end: Take restaurant groups from signature to go-live, and be the reason it goes well.
• Build the playbook: Turn what works at one location into a system that works at fifty, then five hundred.
• Own the customer relationship: Be the person operators trust, and the first to know when a number looks wrong.
• Automate your own work: Build the scripts, automations, and internal tools that make every deployment faster than the last.
• Be forward deployed: Understand how data flows through Marble, from ingestion to agent to approval, well enough to debug a customer issue to root cause. Then translate what you see in the field into roadmap decisions and engineering priorities, with the specificity to act on.
• Support the sale: Join calls where deployment credibility closes the deal, run pilots, and turn pilots into multi-unit rollouts.

Requirements

• Can be in office 5 days/week in New York City
• An operations spike: You've been the person the operation depended on. Maybe you joined a startup with nothing and left it with playbooks. Maybe you onboarded a hundred customers at a B2B software company and know exactly where deployments go sideways. Maybe you ran a restaurant group's back of house and know what a bad count costs on Friday night. Whatever the setting, you know the difference between a process that looks good on paper and one that survives contact with a kitchen.
• A track record of doing hard things: You've consistently sought out uncomfortable situations because you recognize it's the fastest path to progress. This doesn't have to be within a work setting; we index heavily on people who chose the harder environment when an easier one was available.
• Attention to messy details: Deployments succeed or fail on the details. You notice missing data, duplicate records, unexpected inputs, and numbers that don't add up.
• Software fluency: You've lived inside a software business and understand how it actually works: how a customer request becomes a roadmap decision, why engineers push back on a spec, what a good product feels like versus a tolerated one. You use great software and notice when something isn't, and you can hold your own in a conversation with an engineer about why.
• Extremely polished with customers: Credible with a GM at 6am and a CFO at noon. You can run a room or turn a complaint into a product requirement, all while juggling competing priorities behind the scenes.
• Humility and curiosity: You care more about finding the truth than about being the one who found it.
• AI-pilled, or willing to rapidly become AI-pilled: This is the greatest enabling technology of our lifetimes, and every workflow at Marble is augmented by agents. If you've done the same manual workflow twice, you've made a mistake. You use AI tools daily to move faster, and you understand and test what they produce.
• A founder's mindset: You want to diagnose the problem, build the solution, and own the outcome. You define the solution rather than wait for a spec, and you'd rather argue for a better process than quietly execute the wrong one.

Nice to Haves

You don't need all of these. Candidates can be stronger in some areas and grow into others.

• Experience working at an early stage startup (Pre-Seed through Series B)
• Implementation, solutions engineering, or customer success at a vertical SaaS company
• Have worked in or run restaurant operations. Fluency with how the operations actually run is a huge plus
• Experience with restaurant back-of-house systems: POS, inventory, accounting, scheduling, or vendor platforms
• Experience working with and normalizing droves of messy third-party data
• Familiarity with LLM/agentic applications in production
• Interest in procurement, logistics, forecasting, or supply chain

More About Us

A restaurant operation generates enormous amounts of information every minute - what's on the shelf, what came off the truck, what got thrown out, what ran short on the line - but none of it exists in a form any database was designed to store.

We're solving three hard problems that sit on top of each other:

1. Ground truth capture. A multimodal input layer - computer vision, voice AI, document and web ingestion, third-party integration - that captures what's actually happening inside the operation.
2. Prediction on stochastic data. Once the ground truth is captured, the question becomes what happens next. Demand moves with the weather, a game schedule, a promo two blocks over, a catering order. Forecasting here isn't a curve fit over clean history, it's continuous inference over noisy and shifting signals across dozens of locations.
3. Long horizon agents that act. Agents take the ground truth and the forecast and make decisions with real money attached: what to order, how much to prep, who to schedule, which invoice to dispute. They run every day, across every location, and automate tens of thousands of manual workflows.
