Brazil Operations & Logistics Lead
Hub · SP, BR / State of São Paulo, BR / Remote (SP, BR; State of São Paulo, BR)
Job Description
None of Hub's data gets collected until the equipment is in someone's hands.
Getting it there, across a country the size of Brazil, is the whole job.
About Hub
Hub is a real world data infrastructure company. We collect original data that does not exist online: the voice, motion, and first person experience that AI and robots need to understand how people actually live. One of our fastest growing categories is egocentric video, first person footage people record through a head mounted phone. Real people record it, in real homes, doing real tasks. That only works if they have the gear. Backed by Y Combinator. Clients are leading AI labs and Fortune 500 companies. Now scaling on the ground in São Paulo.
Why This Role Exists
We are putting recording equipment, mainly head straps, into the hands of contributors across Brazil. That means importing hardware, clearing customs, managing suppliers, and shipping to people in cities all over the country. Right now nobody owns this. It is unglamorous, and it is the bottleneck the entire Brazil operation runs through.
What You Own
- The full physical pipeline. From supplier to customs to the contributor's door, you make sure the gear arrives.
- Import and customs. You bring hardware into Brazil and get it cleared without delays strangling the operation.
- Domestic distribution. Shipping, tracking, reverse logistics, replacements. The machine that has to run.
- Partners. You manage the suppliers and couriers we already use, and you go find better ones.
- The numbers. How fast a new contributor gets equipped, what each shipment costs, where things get stuck. You own those metrics and drive them in the right direction.
Your First Month
Week 1. Map the operation as it stands. Where gear comes from, how it moves, where it breaks.
Week 2 to 3. Take ownership of suppliers and shipping. Fix the worst bottleneck first. Start sourcing better partners.
Week 4. A working pipeline. Equipment reaching contributors on a predictable timeline, costs you can report, and a plan to scale it.
Who You Are
- Based in São Paulo. Hybrid, not remote. You will be in our Itaim Bibi office and on top of the physical operation.
- A strong writer and speaker in English. You will coordinate with international suppliers, customs, and a US team daily. Strong written English is the one filter we do not bend on.
- Hands on with logistics. You have moved physical things through Brazil before, handled shipping and ideally customs and imports, and you know where operations like this fall apart.
- Fluent in the details. Incoterms, documentation, tracking, follow up. The boring precision is where this role is won.
- A problem solver under pressure. When a shipment is stuck or a supplier goes quiet, you find the path through.
- Organized to the point of obsession. Tracking and follow up are not admin. They are the job.
Not for you if you want a desk, a fixed process, and someone handing you the steps.
For you if you like owning a real operation in the physical world and watching it get faster because of you. No hard feelings either way.
The Details
- Reports to Dany, Head of Staff, who runs Hub's Brazil operation
- Starts as a contract role with a clear path to full time for the right person
- Compensation is discussed on the call, based on your profile
- Two to five years of experience. Drive and ownership matter more than a long resume
How to Apply
We use a short application form. Give it fifteen to twenty minutes. We read every answer. We want specific over generic, real stories over theory, and clear thinking in clean English. "Here is exactly what I did and what happened" beats "I am a hard worker" every time.
