MongoDB Technical Services Engineers combine deep technical expertise with exceptional problem-solving and customer-service skills. You’ll advise customers and resolve complex challenges across MongoDB Core, drivers, Atlas, Cloud Manager, cloud platforms, and infrastructure.
We’re looking for candidates based in Dublin to join our vibrant office and collaborative in-office team. This is a five-day role with one of the following schedules: Tuesday–Saturday, Sunday–Thursday, or a five-day pattern covering both Saturday and Sunday. Under our hybrid model, employees on weekend schedules are expected to work from the office two days per week.
Cool things you’ll do
You’ll help customers troubleshoot complex issues and run critical MongoDB workloads with confidence. You’ll:
- Solve customer challenges across architecture, performance, recovery, and security
- Lead investigations from diagnosis to resolution, providing clear, actionable guidance
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering to advocate for customers and improve MongoDB
- Build tools, documentation, and training while mentoring peers and raising technical excellence
What you need
We value curiosity, adaptability, strong technical foundations, and a genuine desire to help customers. You should bring many of the following:
- 5–6 years of experience in technical support, systems engineering, database administration, SRE, or a related field
- Experience running complex, mission-critical production database systems
- Strong Linux and systems engineering skills, including performance, memory, I/O, storage, networking, security, clustering, and troubleshooting
- A solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including DNS, TCP/IP, and SSL/TLS
- Ability to read code and write basic scripts in one or more languages, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, C++, or Ruby
- Experience analysing issues across the application, database, operating system, storage, and infrastructure layers
- Awareness of customer workloads, including performance, availability, scalability, and security requirements
- Excellent customer communication, prioritisation, collaboration, and decision-making skills, including the judgement to seek help when needed
Bonus Points
- Python experience and familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangGraph or CrewAI
- Experience with distributed full-text, vector, or semantic search, such as Solr, Lucene, or MongoDB Vector Search
- Experience building or supporting agentic AI applications, workflows, or integrations
- Experience with large-scale relational or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with MongoDB, Git, LDAP, Kerberos, Active Directory, AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with Kubernetes, containers, enterprise operators, or secure multi-tenant environments
Success Measures
- In 3 months, you’ll complete New Hire Training and build a strong understanding of MongoDB and its ecosystem
- In 6 months, you’ll work confidently with customers, handle a broad range of cases, and complete the MongoDB Certified Associate Database Administrator exam
- In 12 months, you’ll support peers with advanced diagnostics and handle technical escalations independently
