AI Summary

Innovad Group is seeking an Innovation Lead to own part of its Innovation and IP pipeline, translating scientific research and external opportunities into structured projects, applied services, protected IP, and commercial pathways. The role is hands-on, combining project leadership, commercial awareness, and stakeholder coordination with universities, partners, and licensees.

Job Description

Are you excited by turning scientific ideas into practical, commercially relevant solutions?

Innovad Group is looking for an Innovation Lead to help drive our Innovation and IP pipeline. You will translate scientific ideas, research outputs and external opportunities into structured projects, applied services, protected intellectual property and credible commercial pathways.

This is a hands-on role for someone who combines scientific understanding, strong project leadership, commercial awareness and a bias for action.

What you’ll do

  • Own and drive a defined part of our Innovation and IP pipeline, from initial scoping through execution
    • Identify and assess innovation opportunities aligned with strategic and commercial priorities
    • Translate scientific research and emerging technologies into clear value propositions, business cases and development pathways
    • Lead technology-development and applied-service projects against agreed milestones, budgets and readiness criteria
    • Turn broad concepts into structured action plans with clear deliverables, ownership and decision points
    • Coordinate technical, product, marketing and commercial teams to move opportunities towards market readiness
    • Build relationships with universities, research organisations, technology partners, consultants and licensees
    • Support technology transfer, co-development, licensing and IP commercialisation
    • Provide clear visibility of progress, risks, dependencies, resources and next steps

What you’ll bring

  • A Life Sciences background, ideally biology or a related field. A PhD is welcome but not essential
    • Experience translating science, research or technology into applied services, development projects or commercial opportunities
    • Experience in innovation, life sciences business development, technology transfer, research commercialisation, licensing or a comparable environment
    • Strong project management skills and the ability to take complex work from concept through execution
    • Commercial awareness, sound judgement and a proactive approach
    • Confidence working across scientific, technical, commercial and legal stakeholders
    • The ability to work independently and personally move work forward
    • Fluent professional English and willingness to travel

Experience in animal nutrition, veterinary science, diagnostics, biomonitoring, university partnerships, licensing or IP would be an advantage.

Why join us?

This is not a purely strategic or advisory role. You will be a hands-on bridge between scientific potential and commercial application, with real ownership for progressing opportunities and delivering projects.

The role is Europe-based, with the possibility of home-based working and regular travel within Europe.

We welcome applicants whose experience may not match every requirement. If you are excited by the role and believe you can add value, we encourage you to apply.
