Senior Solutions Engineer

About the Role

Join the pre-sales team at a Series A industrial R&D software company, helping research and development organizations modernize how they manage and use scientific data. You will combine deep scientific knowledge with customer-facing technical and commercial skills to support evaluations and new business.

What You'll Do

• Lead technical pre-sales engagements from initial demonstrations through value cases, technical evaluations, and pilot execution.

• Build tailored demonstrations, workshops, and pilots around each prospect's R&D workflows.

• Partner with sales colleagues and customer stakeholders to communicate value and support new business.

• Present how modern R&D data management can support research and product innovation.

• Mentor early-career teammates supporting technical evaluations.

• Write scripts and configure platform integrations for customer engagements as needed.

• Travel 25% to 50% for customer meetings, presentations, and workshops.

What We're Looking For

• Four to seven years of relevant experience, including at least four years in digitalization, change management, or R&D leadership.

• An advanced degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field, with a machine learning or computational focus.

• Strong chemistry or materials science knowledge and familiarity with enterprise R&D workflows and laboratory informatics.

• Experience building and demonstrating technical platforms for enterprise customers, with a value-based selling approach.

• Python scripting ability and confidence working independently in a fast-paced pre-sales environment.

• Fluent English and C1 or higher proficiency in the relevant local European language.

• Willingness and ability to travel, and authorization to work in Germany, the UK, or the US. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: USD 120,000 to USD 150,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Remote, with Munich, Bavaria, Germany as the primary location.
