Job Description

Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human

Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence.

This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk.

The Infrastructure Quality Team

Okta's Infrastructure Quality team is the resilient and frictionless foundation for our global platforms. We are stewards of system integrity, ensuring that our infrastructure is built with the scalability to grow, the security to trust, and the velocity to innovate. We partner closely with Shared Infrastructure Services and Technical Operations to deliver a "zero-touch" autonomous infrastructure, driving quality, resilience, and reliability across our Core/Resiliency, Data Platform, Technical Operations, and Engineering Security groups.

The Infrastructure Quality Manager Opportunity

As an Infrastructure Quality Manager, you will lead a high-impact team at the center of Okta's "Always On" mission. You will be responsible for defining and executing quality strategies across our critical infrastructure pillars, including Core/Resiliency, Data Platform, and Tech Ops/EngSec. We operate as a force multiplier: we don’t just test everything; we enable our partners to perform risk-based, automated validation. You will lead the transition from manual, reactive testing to AI-driven, autonomous validation, ensuring our infrastructure remains robust under extreme demands.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and career development.
  • Partner with leaders in Core/Resiliency, Data Platform, Tech Ops, and EngSec to implement automated quality guardrails and "Definition of Done" standards.
  • Drive the "Zero-Touch" automation strategy, utilizing AI-driven tools to predict failures, identify hotspots, and streamline release readiness.
  • Oversee operational readiness initiatives and provide on-call incident management support
  • Provide technical guidance on infrastructure-as-code (IaC) reviews, ensuring resource limits, scalability, and performance targets are met.
  • Act as a Customer and Security Advocate, ensuring quality thinking is embedded into every design decision, review, and release.
  • Evaluate existing systems and new technologies (e.g., A/B scale testing, Kubernetes, Cloud native services) to evolve our infrastructure quality roadmap.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

  • Strong management experience in a distributed, global environment; experience managing teams in Bangalore is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in infrastructure quality, SRE, or platform engineering, with a focus on resiliency and performance at scale.
  • Deep understanding of Cloud/SaaS Infrastructure (AWS/GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Expertise in observability and monitoring stacks (e.g., Splunk, Grafana) and their role in incident recovery and diagnostics.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform) and test automation frameworks for non-deterministic/data-heavy environments.
  • Strategic mindset: Ability to partner with Architects, Product Owners, and Security Engineers to influence design and strategy, not just execution.
