ADFAC, LLC is a private investment partnership with offices in Honolulu and Los Angeles. The firm is seeking a finance leader to support Hawaiian Cool Water, a Honolulu-based water treatment and equipment leasing company, along with related business interests.

This role offers the opportunity to serve as the primary financial partner to ownership while helping guide the company's financial operations and long-term planning.

The Role

ADFAC is seeking a Part-Time CFO / Controller to oversee the company's financial function, providing strategic financial guidance while remaining hands-on with day-to-day accounting and reporting. The position works closely with ownership to support financial planning, compliance, and operational decision-making.

This long-term remote engagement is designed for an experienced finance executive seeking meaningful impact with a flexible part-time schedule and responsibility for a single business.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

• Lead the monthly financial close process and financial reporting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance across accounting activities.
• Develop budgets, rolling forecasts, and budget-to-actual analyses.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and lessor accounting for equipment leasing operations.
  
  

Treasury & Financial Planning

• Oversee banking relationships and cash management.
• Monitor loan covenant compliance.
• Partner with the external CPA firm on tax planning initiatives.
  
  

Leadership

• Coach and develop the Accounting Specialist.
• Serve as the primary financial advisor to ownership.
• Support strategic financial decision-making and business planning.
  
  

Qualifications

• CPA strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Big Four/Five public accounting experience is a plus.
• Hands-on controller experience with executive-level financial judgment.
• Strong understanding of recurring revenue metrics, including MRR, churn, and margin.
• Availability during Pacific or Hawaii business hours.
  
  

Compensation

• $150–$165 per hour.
• Long-term 1099 independent contractor engagement.
  
  

Time Commitment

• Approximately 40–50 hours per month (9–12 hours per week).
• Fully remote.
• Flexible work schedule.
• Training and transition support provided by the outgoing CFO/Controller.
